The Continental Hotel turned into a time machine on New Year’s Eve. Champagne flowed as dolled up dancers took centre stage at the Gatsby-themed party.
On a night that holds so many high expectations, this roaring 20’s extravaganza was the cat’s pyjamas and the bee’s knees rolled into one!
At 7pm partygoers arrived at the iconic Sorrento venue. They strutted the red carpet, took some snaps on the photo wall and took a step back in time…
Like a scene from the Great Gatsby, the entertainment blew attendees away.
At the door, Dallas was dressed to impress. She wore a stunning purple dress by Jason Grech, paired with feathers as big as her body.
There were showstopping showgirls with star quality (quite literally, they were covered head to toe in silver stars and diamonds).
Couture costume designer, Joelie Younger created the “Starry Night” vintage looks which featured black feather headdresses and voluminous skirts.
The talented Miss Joelie also transformed dynamo dancers, Pippa and Cara into “Emerald Flapper Gals.” The final touches included finger waves and a classic red lip. On the dance card was the Charleston and of course, jazz hands!
Beck Entertainment worked with Divine Audio to take over the entire Conti, which was fittingly established back in 1875.
DJ Tim Mac and Emanuella pumped out the greatest hits of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s in the inspiring Atrium. While DJ Karl H, Georga and Max on sax played in the Halcyon hall. Patrons partied under the opulent chandeliers, surrounded by an extravagant Art Deco interior.
When midnight rolled around DJ Karl H and violinist Eve played a special countdown piece. While Aria Award winner, Conrad Sewell serenaded the crowd in a special appearance to ring in the new year.
Did guests have the time of their lives?
You bet, old sport!
As I always say, a little party don’t hurt no-body!
Love Beck xx
