MICHELLE DOYLE

Michelle is a talented classical and folk harpist based in Melbourne with roots in the Bellarine Peninsula. After moving to Melbourne to study at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, Michelle's musical journey flourished. She was selected to perform at the prestigious VCE Top Class Season of Excellence and ‘Top Acts’ concert at Hamer Hall. Twice awarded the ‘Paddy O’Neill Award’, she has graced numerous festivals, including the Port Fairy and National Folk Festival. Her love for Celtic music inspired her to acquire a clàrsach (Scottish harp), leading to collaborations with renowned Scots singer Fiona Ross and performances at international festivals like Cape Breton's Celtic Colours in partnership with Fèis Rois.

Michelle’s deep connection to her Irish heritage saw her perform in Shane Howard's production Exile: Songs and Tales of Irish Australia, a tribute to the impact of Irish exiles on Australian culture. The production toured nationally and featured renowned artists such as Paul Kelly and Declan O'Rourke. Alongside her vibrant performance career, Michelle is passionate about teaching and enjoys working with students of all ages, from 5 to 80. She teaches at schools such as Geelong Grammar and Geelong College, fostering the next generation of harpists while sharing her love for the instrument.
