THE BREATHAWAYS

The Breath Aways are a guitar and violin duo who play hot club jazz-infected pop tunes. Think Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. The duo is made up of two highly experienced and hard-working musicians, Xani Kolac and Cristian Barbieri.

Xani Kolac is a powerhouse musician and artist, proven by taking out Music Victoria's Best Musician award in 2022. She has worked with the likes of Clare Bowditch, Tim Rogers, Kate Cebrano, she's appeared on RockWiz and in theatre shows such as Come From Away and as been musical director for several shows including Stand By Your Woman at Hamer Hall. As well as all that she is a singer-songwriter under her own name XANI having recorded, released and toured several albums over the past decade.

Cristian Barbieri is a guitarist and musical director who has worked and toured extensively both internationally and nationally. He has worked with Australian artists such as Jessica Mauboy, Thando and Remi, international acts Goldlink, Masta Ace and Brockhampton and also leads his own band, The CB3.
