THE BREATHAWAYS

The Breath Aways are a violin and guitar duo delivering hot club jazz–inspired pop with a nod to the style of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Formed by two highly experienced musicians, Xani Kolac and Cristian Barbieri, the duo blends virtuosic performance with playful, high-energy musical storytelling, creating a vibrant atmosphere ideal for events.

Xani Kolac is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist, named Music Victoria’s Best Musician in 2022, and has worked with artists including Clare Bowditch, Tim Rogers, and Kate Ceberano, as well as appearing on RockWiz and major theatre productions such as Come From Away. Cristian Barbieri is a guitarist and musical director who has toured extensively both in Australia and internationally, collaborating with acts such as Jessica Mauboy, Thando, Remi, GoldLink, Masta Ace, and Brockhampton, and leading his own project, The CB3. Together, The Breath Aways bring an engaging, stylish sound perfect for wedding ceremonies, canapés, and sophisticated events.
