YENA

Sydney-born Yena Choi commenced her violin training at the age of three and has never looked back. She is classically-trained with many years of practical study as well as academia under her belt. Yena is a graduate of a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours in Advanced Performance, has completed a Performance Program at the Australian National Academy of Music and has been the recipient of an Australian Postgraduate Award Scholarship for a Masters in Philosophy of Music. She has been awarded various national awards and scholarships for international travel and excellence. She currently plays on a 1690 Tononi violin as well as a Yamaha electric instrument, both of which have taken her all around the world from Sydney Opera House to London’s Royal Albert Hall.


Outside the classical realm Yena has collaborated with many touring artists: Eminem, Bruce Springsteen, Hans Zimmer, Michael Buble, Hugh Jackman, Ricky Martin, Diana Krall, Russell Crowe, Michael Bolton, Neil Finn, Richard Clayderman, Tina Arena, Kygo, James Blunt, Megan Hilty, Parkway Drive, Hanson, Dami Im, Conrad Sewell, Boy & Bear, William Barton, Guy Barker, Damon Albarn, Hollow Coves, Mirusia, Kate Miller-Heidke, Delta Goodrem, Katie Noonan, Jessica Mauboy, Peking Duk, Maribou State, Human Nature, Ngaiire, Ziggy Ramo, Milan Ring, Alfie Arcuri, Dead Letter Circus, Eskimo Joe, David Campbell, Guy Sebastian, Jack Carty, Mark Vincent, Ilan Kidron, Rai Thistlewayte, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe. Yena has performed for high profile events such as The Commonwealth CEO Awards ft. Prime Minister Tony Abbott, at the Italian Embassy in London, The Prime Minister’s Literary Awards ft. the Hon Malcolm Turnbull and The Festival of Tibet in the presence of the Dalai Lama’s family. Yena has also provided music for many upmarket clients such as Cartier, Bulgari, Hermes, La Prairie, Moet and Chandon, Porsche, Jaguar and Range Rover. As a regular session musician, she appears on programmes such as The Morning Show, Sunrise, Fox TV, Triple J Like A Version and has performed feature songs for The Voice, Dancing With The Stars, The Logie Awards, The ARIAS, Asia-Pacific Film Awards, EY Entrepreneur Awards and Newscorp News Awards. Yena is both a classical and electric violinist and is sought after in the music industry for her versatility as a performer.
